Before becoming an osteopath I have been a dancer for over 10 years. I started with competing and teaching aerobics in 1996 and from there it has been a steep learning curve.

I broadened my dancing horizons by learning flamenco, contemporary dance, hip hop and break dance. All those years I became conscious of the potential behind strength, agility, flexibility and endurance of the body.

All those dancing styles required a good body balance and proprioception. For some styles, such as break dance and contemporary I used to get fit with gymnastic strength training twice a week (hard work) and running sessions.

For me it was important to stay away from injuries and have my body ready for the next competition or show. For that I used to have periodical sport and deep tissue treatments which helped lot.

I was at this point that I developed an interest in therapy treatments and rehabilitation which, in my case, came in quite handy as I was working in an environment where people do tend to get seldom injured.

Now competition days are long gone, 10 years, but I still gravitate towards the sport and wellness environment enjoying my training, a mix of callisthenics and weight training with some cycling. I have been working in Central London as a sport and clinical massage therapist for over 6 years and now, after my five years of study, as an osteopath.

People who seek treatment from me are many and varied, from desk-bound workers ( busy lawyers and other professionals) but also athletes, who need to be “fixed” for the next competition, and keen gym goers.

All those years of training and learning have become my principal asset in understanding the needs of my clients and patients as well as how to choose the best way to treat them.

In 2012 and 2015 Antonino underwent hip replacements on both sides due to hip osteoarthritis. Now, after undergoing rehabilitation programs, Antonino is back to normal life, training in the gym, cycling and applying his personal experiences to the care of his patients.
